USDA Wildlife Services to Conduct Crow Roost Dispersal in Gloucester |
GLOUCESTER — Interim Chief John McCarthy and the Gloucester Police Department would like to advise residents that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services is conducting crow roost dispersal in an area of the city this week. The procedure, which is being completed on 128 Rogers St., began Feb. 27 and is scheduled to continue until March 2. Dispersals are most successful when conducted on consecutive days. Wildlife specialists use pyrotechnics, a non-lethal technique that is not intended to harm crows, to remove the birds from the area. Residents may hear sounds similar to bottle rockets or fireworks and should not be alarmed. Anyone with questions or concerns should call the Gloucester Police Department at 978-283-1212. ### |
